Privacy Policy

The short version

What this policy covers

This policy is issued by TaroKit ("we") and applies to every language version of tarokit.com, including the random wheel, scenario pages, the Randomness test, written guides and any online tools we add later. If a tool needs to handle different data, we will say so on that tool's page and on this page before it starts.

Data stored on your device

The following stays in your browser's localStorage. Our servers do not receive it and cannot see it:

This data stays in this browser on this device, so it will not appear on another device. Clearing your browser's site data removes it, so download a backup of any list that matters.

Share links and live URLs

When you press Share, your list goes into the part of the link after the #. That part is not sent to a server with the page request, but anyone with the link can see the contents, so share it only with people you trust.

The dedicated URL for Live mode also contains your list, so do not show it publicly or pass it around.

Data we handle

Your lists and draw results are not part of any of the above. If our analytics tools change, we will update this page.

Cookies and similar technologies

The TaroKit wheel runs on localStorage and does not need cookies. Third-party services, ad services in particular, may place and read cookies or use web beacons. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings without affecting the wheel. Clearing all site data, however, also clears the lists in localStorage.

Advertising

Ads cover the cost of running this site, which may show ads from third-party services such as Google AdSense. When ads are shown:

You can turn off personalized ads in Google Ads Settings at https://www.google.com/settings/ads or opt out of some third-party vendors' cookies at https://www.aboutads.info . You will still see ads, but they will no longer be based on your interests. To learn how Google uses this data, see https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites .

Where the law requires consent first, such as in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland, we will ask for your consent before showing personalized ads. We do not give your lists or draw results to advertisers.

Third-party services

These services may process data outside your country and operate under their own privacy policies. We will update this list if we add other ad networks or third-party services.

How long data is kept

Data on your device stays until you delete it. Emails are kept until your request is resolved and they are no longer needed. Third-party services keep data according to their own policies.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, laws such as the EU's GDPR, the UK GDPR, California's CCPA and Taiwan's Personal Data Protection Act may give you the right to access your personal data, get a copy, correct it, stop its collection, processing or use, and delete it.

TaroKit has no accounts and usually cannot identify you by name, so you manage the data on your device yourself. For requests about emails you sent us, write to [email protected].

You do not need to give any personal data to use the wheel. If you do not give an email address, the only effect is that we cannot reply to you.

How to delete your data

In More settings, choose Reset list and history to restore the selected wheel’s sample title and list and clear its draw history. To clear just the draw history for the current page, use the History tab. To remove all local data, clear this site’s data in your browser.

Other people's names in your list

Names of employees, students or viewers in your list are data you enter, so make sure you are allowed to use them. If real names are not needed, use nicknames, student numbers or staff IDs. Before you project, stream or share a link, check that the list is fit for others to see.

Children's privacy

TaroKit is not designed specifically for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. In a classroom, we suggest that the teacher operates the wheel and uses student numbers instead of names. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

Security

The site uses HTTPS throughout, and your lists are not sent to our servers. Even so, no network transfer or device storage is perfectly secure. After using a shared computer, we suggest clearing the site's data.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when we add tools or ad services or when laws change. We will change the date at the top of this page and call out any major change on the page.
