TaroKit
More than 10,000 numbers: the reel is used.
Ready as soon as it opens: the range starts at 1 to 50. Press start, the blocks light up one by one, and one number locks in. You can type your own range, how many to draw, and which numbers to leave out. There is no sign-up, and your data stays in your browser.
How to use it
Three steps:
- Type the lowest and highest numbers, or pick 1–10, 1–50 or 1–100.
- If your numbers are not consecutive, switch to Custom numbers and paste something like 101, 205, 318.
- Press start or the space bar. The number appears large at the top and goes into the record.
Board or reel
The board turns every number into a 3D block. Drawn blocks change colour and excluded ones sink, so you can follow the whole round. The reel shows one large number that stops digit by digit from the left, which works well on a projector.
Above 100 numbers the board has two layers: it locks a group first, then a number inside that group. Above 10,000 numbers the reel is used.
Where it helps
Teachers can number a class and call on students without typing any names into a website. Raffles can draw straight from ticket numbers, with absent numbers left out first. It also works for splitting groups, setting an order, or a quick random number at the game table.
Is it fair?
The result is decided by your browser's cryptographic random generator the moment you press start, and it is saved before the animation plays, so the moving light has no effect on it. Every number still in play has the same chance, on both board layers. See the Randomness test page for more. To draw names instead, use the Random wheel.
Questions
How do I pick a random number from 1 to 50?
Open this page. The range is already 1 to 50, so press start or the space bar.
Can a number come up twice?
Not by default. With No repeats on, a drawn number stays out until you start a new round. Turn it off and every draw uses all the numbers.
Can I draw several numbers at once?
Yes, up to 100. Enter how many in the Draw field. With No repeats on, numbers in the same draw are all different.
Can I draw from numbers that are not consecutive?
Yes. Switch to Custom numbers and type or paste them, separated by commas, spaces or new lines. Leading zeros stay as typed, and repeated numbers are merged.
How do I exclude a number?
Click its block on the board, and click again to bring it back. For many numbers, open Exclude numbers and type something like 7, 12, 30-33.
How large can the range be?
Any whole number from 0 to 999,999,999. Negative numbers and decimals are not supported.
Does reloading change the result?
No. The result is saved before the animation starts, so a reload shows the same draw, and the record stays.
Is my data uploaded?
The range, custom numbers, exclusions, and draw history stay in your browser. A setup link includes the range or custom numbers, how many to draw, and the No repeats setting.
